Losing or Not Losing Your Virginity Early Causes Health Risks According to Columbia U Research

I don't usually write about non-Catholic universities but once in a while a headline is so compelling I can't resist.

The headline reads:

Waiting Too Long to Have Sex Linked to Sexual Dysfunction Later in Life, Study Says

And it goes on to say, "The study, which is will appear in the January 2008 issue of the American Journal of Public Health, found that men who lose their virginity in their 20's seemed more likely to have problems becoming sexually aroused and reaching orgasm.

But the researchers pointed out that men who started having sex early were also at an increased risk for sexual dysfunction and said further research is needed to determine if a causal interpretation can be made."

What's a poor boy to do? I only went to engineering school so the nuances of research can be baffling to the layperson like me BUT if both control groups exhibit the same result, then there is no possible way you can reach the conclusion in the headline.

Hosting Ahmadinejad was bad enough but having this piece of garbage plastered on news sites really calls into question the value of a Columbia degree, don't you think?
